When I ignite my American spirit,
I set the peacocks’ hearts ablaze cause
I’m the chick with all the
zippers on my jacket,
stockings and the white feather stripe
I’m the rock n roll chicken
Why be some sorrow dove
when there’s a rockstar on the bird brain?
I know, let’s feast
on my psychedelic chicken feed
until the coop’s pink walls
melt off the long legs ceiling
Horus flies over
Says to be an angel until the sun goes down
But these wings aren’t angel wings
Says no more murder until the sun goes down
But I’m no crow
I’m the rock n roll chicken
Be an elegant belle, you know
Grace of a white swan with her hair slicked back
I’ve got a wine stained beak,
Foul mouthed fowl
I hoot with the owls
and I could be chickadee royalty,
but they’re too afraid to brawl
with the hawks at the bar
So I’ve made my own American dream,
no fear, no shame
They think I’m prey,
They’ll start to pray
I’m not here long, but
you’ll remember my name
Rock n roll chicken
