COOP #13 feels decidedly like a spring issue. There’s new life, new loves, new journeys, new-found courage, newly-claimed freedoms, and new resolutions! The pieces in this edition reminded me of a new chick stretching out of its eggshell, emerging into the light, and finding its sturdy footing. Spring is a rich time for chickens, literature, and art it seems. I hope reading these pieces remind you of the newness and strength of a new season and the opportunity that exists on every new page. Let the hatchling be your muse and see what happens! Thank you contributors for trusting us with your work and thank you readers for supporting another edition! Happy spring!

I love the theme of healing and wellness that has arisen from this collection of poetry, fiction, and art. There’s something soft and warm in these pieces, like the first warm breeze of springtime, like the soft warmth of a chicken.
I hope this issue warms your heart and makes you feel all nice and fuzzy! Thank you to our contributors, as always.
